Recipe from: Shana Fakkel
A tradition in our family each Christmas and New Year's Eve
1 10 oz pkg. extra sharp cheese, white or yellow, coarsely grated (we like Kraft Cracker Barrel)
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese softened
1/2 t. lemon juice
1/2 t. Worcestershire sauce
1 small onion or half a medium onion
1 c. chopped walnuts, pecans, or smoked almonds
Spread nuts on a plate or waxed paper. Liquefy onion in blender with the juice and sauce. Stir in cheeses and use hands to form a ball. (will be messy) Roll ball in chopped nuts until the whole ball is covered. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator. Keeps well for two weeks. Serve with favorite cracker. We like Wheat Thins and Sociables.
