Peanut Brittle

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
2. c. raw peanuts
1 c. corn Syrup
1 c. butter
1 tsp baking soda

Mix sugar, corn syrup & water in saucepan. cook & stir til sugar dissolves. When syrup boils, blend in butter. Stir frequently after mixture reaches syrup stage. (230 degrees on candy thermometer). Add nuts when temp reaches 280. Stir constantly til temp reaches 305 degrees. Remove from heat. Quickly stir in baking soda ; mix thoroughly. Pour onto wax lined cookie sheet.
