Snickerdoodles

*Original Brown Recipe

1 cup shortening (part margarine)
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugar.  Beat in eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add to mixture. Shape dough into 1 inch balls.

Roll the one-inch balls of dough into mixture of 2 tbsp sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon.

Bake 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees.
