Recipe from: Laura Watson
Vee Henrie was a friend of Grandma Browns. This was in the original Browns best cookbook. She was a clothes designer called Mini world. Mom says you sometimes see these clothes at DI.
Mom says these are to die for!
1 c. butter
2 yeast cakes dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. scalded milk
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
flour (there is no amount of flour -- add little at time til pulls away from pan)
Beat eggs very light while still beating, pour milk over them, then add sugar & salt. Add yeast & flour to make a soft dough. Knead, cover & let raise til lite. Work in butter. Let raise again til lite. Form buns w/ cinnamon & sugar that have been scalded, drained & dusted w/ flour. Place on greased pan. Let raise. Brush w/ egg white & mixture of cinnamon & sugar.
Bake at 350 for 15 min.
