Great Harvest Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

Recipe From: Laura Watson

Not just any pumpkin chocolate chip bread recipe.......But Great Harvests authentic Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread recipe.  A lady I know,  knew someone who used to work for Great Harvest many years ago and  was given the recipe from the owner.  It could be that they may have changed the recipe since then.  As you can see, there's 3 cups of sugar!  Eeekk!  ya, its not a typo.  Don't think about it....just enjoy. LOL  😉

2 ½ c. white flour
1 c. whole wheat flour
3 c. sugar
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp salt
16 oz. canned pumpkin puree (not pie filling)   I use 20-22 oz for moister bread
1 c. oil
4 eggs lightly beaten
2/3 c. water
1 1/2 c. semi sweet choc chips*

Preheat oven to 350.  Grease two loaf pans 9x5, or three 8x4 loaf pans.
Mix flours, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt together in large bowl; set aside.  Mix pumpkin, oil, eggs, and 2/3 c. water together and stir into dry ingredients.  Then stir in choc. chips. Put batter into prepared pans. Fill pan less than half—otherwise dough will be gooey in middle.  Bake 60-70 min. or til toothpick comes out clean.
For muffins: Regular size bake 18 min.  For mini muffins bake 12 min.
*Do not use mini choc chips
