Cranberry Honey Butter

 Recipe From: Laura

This delicious Cranberry Honey Butter was the perfect addition to grace our table for Thanksgiving.   A simple sweet creamy butter spread infused with tangy cranberries, citrus, and honey-- an elegant showstopper to your holiday meal, adding a touch of elegance to any table.  The honey sweetens the butter and complements the festive tart cranberries while the orange zest adds a bright citrus zingy flavor.  Oh yeah, it’s not just limited to just holidays.  Slather atop bagels, biscuits, rolls, toast, muffins, pancakes, waffles, scones or a baked baguette---it's quite the treat!

1 cup butter, softened

1/3 cup finely chopped dried cranberries

1/4 cup honey

1 teaspoon grated orange zest

1/8 teaspoon salt (only add if using unsalted butter)

Customization Ideas :

Use lemon or lime zest instead of orange for a different citrus flavor.

Swap dried cranberries for chopped cherries, strawberries or raspberries

Try a variation of dried cherries with lime zest or dried blueberries with lemon zest.

Replace the honey with maple syrup.  This pairs perfectly with a stack of fluffy pancakes.

Mix in a pinch of cinnamon for a warm holiday twist.

*Side note* The original recipe called for 2 tsp grated orange zest but I liked more of a lighter citrus flavor.  Add more to your liking.
