Sourdough Doughnuts

Recipe From: Barbara Morrison
{From Brown's Best Original Cookbook}

1/2 c. sourdough batter
1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. shortening
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 egg
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking soad
1/2 tsp. salt

Sift dry ingredients. Stir into liquids. Roll out and cut into doughnuts. Heat oil to 390 and fry. 
Glaze or dust with cinnamon sugar.
