I made this beautiful fruit salad for activity days to go along with my lesson -- 'Our bodies are Temples'. The girls LOVED the salad & I even had moms texting me later for the recipe. You can certainly add any other fruit you like.
I made this beautiful fruit salad for activity days to go along with my lesson -- 'Our bodies are Temples'. The girls LOVED the salad & I even had moms texting me later for the recipe. You can certainly add any other fruit you like.
FRUIT SALAD
1 red
apple, cored and chopped
1 green
apple, cored and chopped
1 lb.
fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
1 small
pineapple, outer skin and core removed, fruit cut into pieces
1 pint
fresh blueberries
2 cups red
grapes, halved
4 kiwi
fruit, peeled and chopped
3 oranges,
peeled and segmented
2 firm,
ripe bananas, peeled and chopped
2 mangoes, chopped
HONEY CITRUS DRESSING
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup fresh
squeezed lemon juice
1/4 cup fresh
squeezed orange juice
Zest of 2 limes (2 tsp.)
Lime juice (optional- I added the juice from limes I zested.

Place all of the fruit in a large bowl. Soak apples in lemon juice to keep from
browning. Set aside.
In a blender or
medium bowl with a whisk, combine all of the dressing ingredients until well
combined. Pour dressing over the fruit and stir to coat several times. Sprinkle lime zest on top of fruit.
Drizzle dressing (at bottom of bowl) over fruit when serving
.
