Instant Pot Wild Rice Herb Pilaf

Perfectly textured rice that's saturated in deep delicious herb flavors.  This was a big hit with the kids!  Enjoy with Jamaican Chicken Drumsticks.  

1  1/2 c. short grain brown rice
1/2  c. wild rice
2 c. chicken broth
1 TBSP parsley
1 TBSP minced onion
1 TBSP marjoram
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 TBSP salt
2 TBSP avocado oil or olive oil
dried cranberries (optional)

In the Instant Pot, mix 1 c. water with brown rice, wild rice, chicken broth, parsley, onion, marjoram, garlic powder, salt, oil & optional cranberries, then stir.  Put lid on Instant Pot, turn valve to sealing and set cook time for 35 min on high pressure.  Let pressure naturally release.   Remove lid and fluff with fork. Serve right away. 

Fresh herbs and spices are always best since they make herbs the star of the show! :)

As a side note, the original recipe called for 1 TBSP salt but we found it on the salty side.  Adjust according to your palate.  Also, the cook time was originally 24 min. but found that it didn't quite cook it all the way so increased it to 35 min.
